My disability doesn’t define me. This moto is something I’ve always battled with since birth when I was born with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. My name is Claire and I am the creator and owner of A Journey In My Wheels, I have been an electric wheelchair user since I was old enough to drive (3 years old) and even though it has been a rollercoaster of a journey I’ve never let it get me down for too long. I’m definitely known for always trying to put a positive spin on everything and I’m hoping to demonstrate that through my blog. Life throws you lemons sometimes, or in my case a lot of barriers, but through improvisation you just have to defeat one of those barriers at a time. By sharing my life stories and thoughts throughout this blog I hope to change the negative perspective that some people have about living with a disability whilst also hopefully improving the accessibility of venues through my stories and reviews.
