This year is flying in already, I can’t believe we’re now into March. It’s starting to look like it’s going to be a busy year but, again even though it’s been a busy year there’s not much to report on. However, I do not want to give up on this blog theme in the second month.
I’ve not bought many items of clothing this year so far but when I saw New Look were selling a slogan t-shirt with lyrics from my favourite movie, I knew I definitely had to have it. If you don’t follow me on Instagram (@ajourneyinmywheels) you wouldn’t have seen the photo of me wearing my ‘This Is Me’ t-shirt which I love.
The theme of the song and if you don’t know what movie this is from, The Greatest Showman, originates with so many people and is extremely powerful.
I was hoping that by the time I wrote this blog post, that I would have all my Royal Yacht Britannia content written up. Unfortunately, that has happened so stay tuned for that.
Therefore, I suppose my favourite review for February has to be Norie Miller Park in Perth. I visited here with my friends at the start of the month for a free Harry Potter theme evening light show event. It was a bit of a miserable night weather wise, I got soaked through but, I still had a really good time. I hadn’t visited Norie Miller Park before so, I wasn’t sure how accessible it was. Even though I did have to circle back on myself due to steps, it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience and I was still able to see everything. For being free it was a great event.
I got an Unlimited Cineworld Card in February which means I can see as many movies as I want as many times as I want. Although this might mean that it be more difficult to pick a favourite movie each month.
If I had to pick one though, it would have to be Instant Family. This movie follows a married couple who have never had children and start to look into adoption. It follows them through whole process, illustrating the emotional rollercoaster that is involved with it. It’s funny, emotional and a great insight into how the adoption process works. I think this movie is still out at the cinema and if it is where you live, then I would highly recommend you go to see it.
Favourite TV Show
Now I’m going to be honest, I don’t think I’ve actually finished watching a TV series in February. Oh wait, I did watch One Day A Time over the course of a weekend. Oops. I wouldn’t say it was my favourite of the month though. It’s a funny series to watch in the background though, and it does cover some very serious topics. But it’s just a quick show to watch whilst eating lunch. Like Friends which I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve started from the start for about the 20th time.
I’ve been getting hooked the last 2 weeks on Baptiste a crime drama which airs on BBC One on a Sunday night. It follows on from The Missing which aired a couple of years ago about Detective Baptiste solving cases of people going missing. I love crime/mystery shows and trying to figure out what happens, although the great thing about The Missing and now this newer show Baptiste is that there are lots of twists and turns. It’s just unfortunate that I have to wait a whole week for the next episode, why can’t every catch-up provider be like Netflix and release a whole series at once?
Similar to last month, I was working, meeting up with friends and chilling out watching TV. My friends and I had lovely days when meeting up, going out for lunches and tea, visiting the V&A, shopping in town and a cheeky trip to IKEA. Who doesn’t love a wander (or in my case drive) around the endless show rooms imagine it all in your own house? I love the candles and of course stopping off for some Swedish meatballs for lunch. It was great day full of laughter and of course car karaoke.
Between the four of us we may have bought a whole room worth of items and it’s fair to say I was surrounded by boxes on the way home.
It’s been a good month, and even though I’m starting off March full of the cold I’m excited for everything that I have planned.
