As my title suggests I have mixed feelings about this time of the year, I mainly love it though. The reason for that is because…IT’S CHRISTMAS!!! I love this holiday season, however this year I just don’t feel as Christmassy as others. I have a strong dislike to the cold weather though and would rather hibernate in my bed than put on my jacket, boots, scarf and gloves. I feel like the Michelin Man with my jacket on, winter jackets restrict the movement in my arms even more than I have already and I can never do anything except just manage to drive my power chair. That’s why I haven’t really posted much on social media recently (especially Snapchat) because I can’t move my arms to take a picture and I also must wear my gloves, which say they compatible with touch screens but never work for me. I can also never find cosy shoes to fit my feet, I’ve had 2 pairs of boots for about 3 years now and I think I’m going to have to find new one’s next year. It doesn’t sound fun, but that’s 2018’s problem.

We’re still in 2017 and love should always trump hate. So, I am enjoying this time of the year with friends and family, whilst trying to feel a little bit more Christmassy than I do now. Doesn’t help that I feel a cold coming on, luckily though I went to get my flu jab last week, so it shouldn’t turn into anything more serious. More about the flu jab another time though, maybe next year. As I said I do LOVE this time of the year though, I’m the type of person that plays their Christmas music right after the last firework falls on Bonfire Night. I’m usually pretty organised with my Christmas shopping too, but not so much this year, it was all done last weekend though. That’s because I really didn’t want to go anywhere near any shops this weekend as they will be mad. I love decorating the gingerbread house and delivering the presents to all the kids in the family, seeing them get all excited for the lead up to Santa coming. I didn’t visit many Christmas markets this year, but I will hopefully be able to visit the one in Edinburgh when I go through with my family on the 27th December.

The movies are always the best too. Last night my best friend and I had a Christmas movie night, although she doesn’t like the ‘old ones’ but I say they’re the classics. Miracle on 34th Street, The Santa Clause and more but I just can’t think. It’s a chilled-out Christmas Eve night for me today though, movies and take-away. I hope you all have an amazing day tomorrow wherever you are and that you enjoy your time with your loved ones. I will try and post another blog post before the New Year, but if I don’t I will speak to you all in 2018.
